Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp Phase-III from 29th April to 3rd May 2024 at SSM College of Engineering

A five day "Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamps (Phase III) being organized by AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell was inaugurated today (29th April 2024 at 9:30 a.m.) at SSM College of Engineering Divar Parihaspora Pattan District Baramulla, Kashmir J&K (UT) Nodal Centre after formal Central Inauguration in virtual mode by Prof. T.G. Sitharam Chairman AICTE New Delhi from AICTE Head Quarter which was telecasted live on social media platforms. The Boot Camp is being held at 9 locations across the country.

This unique initiative aims to nurture the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurial skills of Student Innovators. More than 2500+ Student Innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from Higher Education Institutes are expected to participate at 9 locations.

In this 3rd phase of IDE Boot Camp some of the Renowned Speakers and Design Experts of National and International repute are going to deliver the training sessions at these 9 locations.

This bootcamp is being organized in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for its support of entrepreneurship education, which will train the participants in product design, ergonomics design thinking and pitching skills to thrive in today's dynamic business landscape. The IDE Bootcamp offers an immersive and action-packed 5-day program focused on hands-on, experiential learning. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into various product design methodologies, foster design thinking concepts, and gain invaluable experience. Also there will be multiple Motivational Talks by various startup founders specially from SIH alumni who will inspire participants specially from J&K and Ladakh students for Entrepreneurial Career.

On the first day the participants showcase their innovation in the exhibition and on the fourth day the local tour has been arranged for the participants to provide them real-world insights, networking opportunities, and creative inspiration, enhancing their entrepreneurial mindset. On the final day the student teams will pitch their innovations in front of expert panels consist of startup founders, incubators, lP experts, angel Investors and VC’s & knowledge agencies.

The IDE Bootcamps exemplify the government's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, propelling India towards becoming a global hub for innovation-driven enterprises.

The inaugural function at SSM College of Engineering (Nodal Centre) was attended by Prof. Khursheed Ahmad Butt, Dean College Development Council University of Kashmir as Chief Guest, Dr. Elangovan Kariappan, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India as Guest of Honour, Dr. Ahmad Faraz Khan Master Trainer Wadhwani Foundation, Dr. Irfana Rashid Expert Speaker- Wadhwani Foundation, besides senior functionaries of College Management/Administration.

During the Inaugural function Prof. Khursheed Ahmad Butt, Dean College Development Council University of Kashmir Chief Guest on the occasion highlighted the need for holding such camps and following up the process of Innovation by the concerned Innovation Cells of the Institutions.

Dr. Elangovan Kariappan, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India who was Guest of Honour on the occasion spoke about the motive of holding such camps in a systematic manner through a process with continuous monitoring at each level so as to take the innovative idea to its logical conclusion so that it is beneficial to the society.

Participants from different State of the Country besides students/faculty members of Higher Education Institutions of UT of Jammu and Kashmir are taking part in the Boot Camp. The said event shall continue for five days during which extensive technical sessions by Experts from Wadhwani Foundation/Local Experts, pitching of ideas/projects shall take place besides interactions among the participants.
