A two-day IDE Boot Camp for Student Innovators, Teachers/Principals of Schools was inaugurated today at SSM College of Engineering Divar Parihaspora Pattan District Baramulla, Kashmir J&K (UT) after formal Central Online Inauguration by Prof. T.G. Sitharam Chairman AICTE New Delhi.
The inaugural function was attended by Mrs. Pooja Rawat Innovation Officer Ministry of Education’s (MoE’s) Innovation Cell Government of India, Prof. Z.A. Chatt Former Director Colleges J&K/Former Chairman J&K BOSE, Mr. Danush H.B Regional Manager and Mrs. Geetha Sanjay Master Trainer from Wadhwani Foundation.
During the Inaugural function Speakers Mrs. Pooja Rawat, Prof. Z.A. Chatt and Dr. Abdul Malik Razvi Principal Behria Public School Patna Bihar highlighted the need for holding such camps in consonance with NEP-2020 so that the benefits of holding such percolates to the school sector in the UT of J&K irrespective of school Board affiliations as the scheme is mostly implemented in CBSE affiliated schools at present.
The Ministry of Education’s (MoE’s) Innovation Cell is hosting the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp for Student Innovators, Teachers and Principals of Schools on April 4th and 5th 2024. This program is being organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) jointly with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), National Council of Education, Research and Training (NCERT).
This bootcamp is being organized in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for its support of entrepreneurship education, which will train the participants in product design, ergonomics design thinking and pitching skills to thrive in today's dynamic business landscape.
In this IDE Bootcamp, renowned speakers, design experts, and Incubation Heads of national level will conduct technical/training sessions.
This initiative is geared towards training student innovators, teachers and Principals from both PM-SHRI and Non-PM SHRI schools across India at 18 centres in 14 States/UT.
During this two-day bootcamp, participants will receive training in adopting a human-centric approach to identifying opportunities, mastering design thinking tools, and enhancing skills necessary for developing customer-centric products or services. Additionally, they will explore fundamental business models and conduct preliminary calculations for their ideas / start-up concepts. The bootcamp also seeks to enhance participants' understanding of the Indian entrepreneurial landscape, available opportunities for school children, and the support framework provided by the Government of India.
The event promises a series of group activities, immersive working sessions, and engaging workshops, all tailored to ignite creativity and problem-solving skills. With an emphasis on fostering collaboration and interactive learning, participants will explore into the "why," "what," and "how" of innovation. Throughout the program, attendees will gain valuable insights into the significance of innovation in education, uncover practical strategies for driving change, and harness the power of entrepreneurial thinking.
