SSM College Student Nuha Harris Shines as University of Kashmir Tops 17th National Youth Parliament Competition

It is a matter of immense pride and delight that the University of Kashmir has secured First Position in the 17th National Youth Parliament Competition, held across the country with 59 universities participating in the group stage. Out of these, 8 universities qualified for the national round, where the University of Kashmir emerged as the overall winner.
Among the 55 students who participated in the final round, the Top 8 performers have been selected for a visit to the Indian Parliament, where they will also be felicitated for their outstanding performance.
Adding further glory to this achievement, Nuha Harris (Batch 2023), a student of the Department of Computer Science at SSM College of Engineering, was ranked among the Top 8 Best Performers in the 17th National Youth Parliament Competition, securing 3rd position individually, while representing the University of Kashmir team that secured 1st position nationally.
Apart from this remarkable accomplishment, she has consistently excelled in various academic and literary events organized by the University. Some of her notable achievements include:
* 1st Position – 39th National Elocution Competition, Pune
Secured First Position at the 39th National Elocution Competition held in Pune and was awarded a cash prize of ₹7,000.
* 1st Position – Drug Abuse Debate Competition, University of Kashmir
Won First Position in the Drug Abuse Debate Competition organized at the University of Kashmir and received a cash prize of ₹7,000.
* 1st Position – Intra-University English Elocution (Sonzal 2025)
Secured First Position in the Intra-University English Elocution Competition (Sonzal 2025) at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, earning the opportunity to represent the University at the Zonal Level in Chandigarh.
* Top 8 Best Performers – 17th National Youth Parliament Competition
Selected among the Top 8 Best Performers nationwide, contributing to the University of Kashmir’s 1st position among 59 universities across India.
This remarkable achievement once again reflects how SSM College of Engineering continues to play an integral role in the academic and intellectual excellence associated with the University of Kashmir.
